Herman's Hermits starring Peter NooneThe inaugural “Wildwoods Fabulous ‘50s Weekend Salutes tMicky Dolenzhe Sixties” will be a musical celebration of the 1960s. Events include a concert featuring Micky Dolenz of the Monkees, Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Crystals, and the Rip Chords at the Wildwoods Convention Center; a Friday evening Record Hop with Jerry Blavat, an antiques and reproductions show; free showings of Herman’s Hermits films of the 1960s, a Street Fair with live music, contests, classic cars and vendors, and more.

Friday, April 27
Sensational Sixties Record Hop
8pm to Midnight, Wildwoods Convention Center, 4500 Boardwalk, Wildwood.
Hosted by popular '50s disc jockey Jerry "The Geator" Blavat, this evening of classic music, food, cocktails and more kicks off the weekend and will be broadcast live throughout southern New Jersey on 94.3FM Slammin' Gold. Admission: $10 per person.

Saturday, April 28
Sensational Sixties Street Fair
FREE!

10am to 6pm, on the Boardwalk, Burk to Andrews Avenues, Wildwood
This street fair features live music, classic cars, food and merchandise vendors, Hula-Hoop and trivia contests and more.

Street Fair Entertainment Schedule:
11:00am: Sixties Trivia Contest
11:30am: Love Affair
performs hits from the '50s and '60s
1910 Fruitgum Company12:30pm: 1910 Fruitgum Company: The classic bubblegum band performs its fun hits, like "Simon Says" and "1-2-3 Red Light," and some of the best of the sixties.
The Rip Chords1:30pm:
Surf guitar band The Rip Chords perform their million-seller "Hey Little Cobra" and more. 
2:45pm: Hula-Hoop Contest
3pm: 1910 Fruitgum Company
3:45pm: Austin Powers Look-Alike: The sixties' most Shagadelic secret agent entertains.
4pm: The Rip Chords
5pm: Love Affair
Throughout the Day: Classic cars will be displayed on the boardwalk.
Emcee Lou Costello spins classic music from the era.

Retro Antiques and Reproductions Show FREE!
10am to 6pm, Wildwoods Convention Center, 4500 Boardwalk, Wildwood.
An exhibition and sale of antiques from the 1950s and '60s, as well as retro reproductions of furniture, fixtures and housewares. There will be showings of the Herman's Hermits' movies "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter" and "Hold On!" Free admission.

Wildwoods DooWop '50s Trolley Tours Tours
Depart from the Street Fair, Burk Avenue and the Boardwalk, Wildwood. Call for departure times.
Hop on the DooWop bus to see 1950s architecture that juts, slopes, curves and slices. Tickets $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 3-12. Purchase tickets at the Street Fair, or call 609-884-5404 or 800-275-4278.

Micky DolenzPeter NooneSensational Sixties Rock and Roll Show with Micky Dolenz, Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, the Crystals, and the Rip Chords.
7pm, Wildwoods Convention Center, 4500 Boardwalk, Wildwood
Come and watch them sing and play at a rock and roll show starring Micky Dolenz of the Monkees ("Last Train to Clarksville," I'm a Believer," "Pleasant Valley Sunday"), Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone ("I'm Henry VIII, I Am," "There's a Kind of Hush"), Gary Lewis and the Playboys ("Everybody Loves a Clown," "This Diamond Ring"), The Crystals ("Da Doo Ron The CrystalsRon," "He's a Rebel"), and The Rip Chords ("Hey Little Cobra"). Tickets are $35 per person for general admission seating. Tickets can be purchased online or by phone at 888-729-0033. Guests who purchase weekend packages at participating hotels, motels and inns receive preferred seating.

Sunday, April 29
Wildwoods Sensational Sixties Sunday FREE!
1pm, 12th and New Jersey Aves. (adjacent to Cool Scoops), North Wildwood
The Missing Links, America's only Monkees tribute band, will perform live on the outdoor stage, recreating all your favorite hits from the original TV shows. The original Monkeemobile from the television series will also be on hand. There will be memorabilia vendors, special award presentations and surprise guests.

Our autumn extravaganza returns October 20-22, 2006, with a Jerry Blavat Record Hop, a free Street Fair with live entertainment, vendors and classic cars; an all-star show with Philly's own film-TV-stage star James Darren, Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge; the Platters, Joey Dee and the Starlighters, and the Shangri-Las, and the Wildwoods Music Awards.
